"I was blown away by Komi’s “Happy Gyro” pop-up from Johnny Monis: a vegetarian prix-fixe riff on Greek-American carryout that produced some of my favorite bites of the year — a tomato-cucumber salad with whipped feta, mushroom souvlaki skewers, a tofu-skin gyro that tasted better than recent meat versions, and a crisp “fish” sandwich made with breaded tofu. Rather than relying on luxury ingredients, the menu coaxed big flavors from humble components; I hope they bring the pop-up back or turn it into its own restaurant." - Gabe Hiatt
