"Set to arrive downtown by January 2020, Gaslamp Breakfast Company will occupy a 3,148-square-foot space on J Street between Fifth and Sixth Avenues with a patio, replacing The Dive SKC. Designed in part to ease wait times at Johan Engman’s nearby Breakfast Republic locations, its menu will be similar to North Park Breakfast Company and includes chilaquiles, fried rice eggs Benedict, omelets and scrambles, chicken confit and grits, and indulgent sweet and savory pancakes and French toast. This location will also have a full bar pouring classic Bloody Marys, coffee cocktails, and other spiked drinks that feature a base of fresh fruit and vegetable juices; the landlord said he was impressed with Engman’s track record, menu, and contemporary aesthetic and noted the corner’s proximity to large hotels made a breakfast concept a natural fit." - Candice Woo
