"Located at 5025 S. Fort Apache Road, this Indian restaurant was shut down on November 26 after inspectors found a multi-generational cockroach infestation, with roaches observed coming through ceiling tiles, on the magnetic knife strip, on walls over prep surfaces, on shelves with food containers, around the hand sink, in the ware washing area, under tables, and crawling on kitchen floors. Health violations also cited grease on equipment, food debris on a fryer, and dirty floors, ceilings, shelves, and walls; potatoes were held at unsafe temperatures, and employee food was stored alongside customer food. The establishment reopened on December 3 with a zero-demerit A grade. The Southern Nevada Health District conducts unannounced inspections at least annually, posts reports online about five days after inspections, routinely shuts down restaurants that receive more than 40 demerits, and allows businesses to request a re-inspection before the next scheduled inspection." - Susan Stapleton
