"Opening as a takeover at the Mandrake Hotel in Fitzrovia, this new all-day restaurant—named for a Venezuelan jungle plant—will weave a loosely defined tangle of South American influences into a broadly modern European framework and promises a sense of stylish escapism. Sample dishes described include a sea bass ceviche with blood orange, red onion and nasturtium; grilled octopus served with aji pancha (a regionally variable, pepper-based sauce); and a dessert of double-fermented itakuja chocolate with yoghurt sorbet, salted caramel, fennel pollen and olive oil. No chef has been named; the venue will begin a soft launch on 5 February ahead of an official opening on 12 February." - James Hansen
