"At the new Duluth Avenue outpost, Épicerie Sue expands Sandwicherie Sue into a bigger épicerie that still serves sandwiches influenced by Vietnamese banh mi but with its own twists. Most sandwiches come with cucumber, daikon, carrot, cilantro and a house aioli; notable options include a Chinese-leaning pork char siu and a “traditional” sandwich with pâté, Vietnamese sausage and barbecue ham, all served in crispy rolls rather than baguettes. The menu adds new grilled creations — ginger chicken, curry chicken and lemongrass tofu — plus fresh rolls with chicken, pork or tofu, soups and salads. Drinks include Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk, bubble tea and a house lemonade. It’s casual counter service, very affordable like the original, and the larger space also stocks east and southeast Asian goods (shrimp chips, sauces, ramen noodles), which explains the “épicerie” name.
