"Located on a prime corner of La Mesa’s downtown district and ringed with garage-style windows, this 2,200-square-foot gastropub takes its name from the curbside patio that wraps around the building; it is currently serving dinner from 4 p.m. and will commence lunch service on Friday, October 12. Managing partner Jonathan Baron, a La Mesa native who also owns The Regal Bar, has brought veteran chef Lance Repp into the kitchen — Repp previously worked at Tom Ham’s Lighthouse, La Valencia, Rancho Valencia and was most recently executive chef of the University Club atop Symphony Towers. The menu ranges from bar snacks like ahi tuna poke and chorizo cornbread bites to tostadas, salads, and sandwiches including a short rib melt and a brie-and-bacon-onion-jam–topped burger, and the bar plans a competitive happy hour with craft beer on tap plus champagne-based drinks, sangria, mojitos and more." - Candice Woo
