"Using an extra-high proof gin that Bill Potter describes as "perfectly good gin that is a little bit old," New York Distilling Company mixes 450 ml of gin with 200 ml of gel to create a 60 percent alcohol hand sanitizer that he’s been giving to customers and staff in 200 ml glass flasks; Potter, who uses an 87 percent distillate, says the sanitizer smells "a little bit like Christmas" from the juniper and notes juniper's long history as an antiseptic, while the distillery has capacity to produce over 1,400 bottles and is interested in making larger quantities as a public service." - Gary He
