"Returning to New Orleans’s Westbank on Sunday, December 5, this night market is a different kind of food festival celebrating the area’s “multicultural theme cuisine” and fusion foods; modeled after the bustling nighttime outdoor markets common in many Asian countries and organized by Thuy Pham, it debuted in 2019 and is now in its third year. I note that admission is free, food costs go directly to vendors, and more than 20 vendors will be on site alongside local bands, dance troupes, and pettable farm alpacas for kids; sponsorships, beer and wine sales, and merchandise sales help raise money for local nonprofits, and this year proceeds will go to First Tee of Greater New Orleans. The market’s timing (starts at 2 p.m.) and inclusive, multicultural focus have helped it grow into a major community event." - Clair Lorell
