"Opened Friday, September 16, at 1818 Washington Avenue in Sawyer Yards, I found Puttery Houston turns putt-putt into a party: a two-story interactive mini-golf venue with three nine-hole courses, plenty of non-golf entertainment (a cozy upstairs lounge, rotating DJs, and live music), and a lively food-and-drink program that promises well-mixed cocktails rather than watery drinks. For $18 per person you can explore the themed courses: The Lodge channels a Colorado getaway with ski lifts for photo ops, a mock fireplace, and a snowy Rocky Mountains backdrop; The Conservatory offers a desert-inspired scene with redwoods, cacti, and cherry blossoms; and The Library is geared toward book lovers with wall-to-wall shelves of books, a dimetrodon figure, a world globe, and portraits. Guests can pair a round with wine, beer, or signature cocktails (including a bourbon-based "BBQ on a Saturday Night" made with honey, smoked peach, lemon, and bitters), and a menu that includes salads, appetizers like Cajun-buttered fire shrimp and charcuterie boards, plus eight pizza styles such as a melty mascarpone and mushroom and a sausage, hot honey, and ricotta pizza. Puttery Houston’s hours are 4 p.m. to midnight Monday–Wednesday; 4 p.m. to 2 a.m. Thursday; noon to midnight Friday; and 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. Saturday and Sunday." - Brittany Britto Garley
