GreenRiver, Danny Meyer and Dead Rabbit’s Michelin-Starred Chicago Restaurant, is Closing | Eater Chicago

"Opened in 2015, the Danny Meyer collaboration GreenRiver in Streeterville—created with the team behind NYC’s Dead Rabbit—built an ambitious, innovative cocktail program that earned a Michelin star, a three-star review in the Chicago Tribune, and recognition for former head bartender Julia Momose (an Eater Young Gun). While the hype skewed more toward its highly acclaimed cocktails than the food, the restaurant’s location inside the Northwestern Memorial Hospital outpatient facility on the 18th floor surprised many and often made it difficult to find, which may have hindered its business; once inside, guests were frequently wowed by sparkling views and standout design. Ownership also opened a second bar, Annex, which was shuttered in October to become private-event space.
