"Opening Friday, August 21, I learned that the new 2,400-square-foot, graffiti-lined Set NoLibs at the foot of the Piazza complex (1030 N. 2nd Street) is a 10-TV, sports-focused gastropub with an Asian twist from NYC-based Set Hospitality in partnership with Philly’s Glu Hospitality; part of the co-ownership team is Taiwanese and Chinese and the spot puts global spins on sliders, skewers, seafood, tacos, and wings. Because indoor dining in Philly has been pushed to September 1 at the earliest, the bar launches with sprawling outdoor seating across the Liberties Walk courtyard, sidewalk, and a new streatery, plus takeout and third-party delivery, and is scheduled to operate Tuesday–Thursday from 3 p.m. to 10 p.m. and Friday–Sunday starting at noon. The menu features bulgogi cheesesteak sliders built with Korean barbecue-marinated ribeye, bell peppers, Tex-Mex cheese, and chipotle mayo; jalapeno “cheeseburger” spring rolls; fiery Thai chili Sriracha wings; Sriracha aioli–flanked lemongrass chicken tacos with traditional banh mi fillings (pickled carrots, cucumbers, cilantro); and loaded “New York City” tacos packed with ground beef, cheddar, bacon, tater tots, pico de gallo, and chipotle aioli, alongside frozen margaritas, a Red Bull frosé, and 16-oz or 32-oz mojitos. Eggy brunch service debuts immediately with a steak-and-eggs skillet, a 30-day dry-aged burger topped with an egg, and fried breakfast wontons with scrambled eggs. The Philly location plays up hometown teams and iconic landscapes with colorful murals by local graffiti artist Dave Henry, and COVID-19 precautions include sanitizing bathrooms every 15 minutes, running all dishes/utensils/glassware through high-temp dishwashers, and offering single-use alternatives on request." - Tierney Plumb
