"I watched owner and pizzaiolo Chris Flanagan compete in the Neapolitan Division of the International Pizza Challenge in Las Vegas, where he placed 15th out of 500 competitors and missed the World Champion title by four points; he grew up in Carlton and cut his teeth for decades at restaurants including Tabla and Ten-01 before launching Grana with Maya Setton at the Vancouver Farmers' Market and opening in the former Pizzicato location on East Burnside Street in October 2023 to bring Naples-style pies to the area.
