"Inside the Little Five Points Starbucks before my shift I unlocked the restroom and found someone unconscious on the floor with a needle in his arm and paraphernalia beside him; I called 911, told the dispatcher I had Narcan in my backpack, and—guided by the dispatcher—injected naloxone into the man’s forearm, after which police and paramedics arrived and took over. The paramedics later told me the few minutes between the dose I gave him and their arrival very likely saved his life because he wasn’t receiving oxygen to the brain, so I donated one of the two doses I had left to the store first-aid kit and showed my supervisors how to use it." - Sarra Sedghi
