"I reported that Griffins of Kinsale Irish Pub on Mission Street in South Pasadena was knowingly opened on St. Patrick’s Day despite the statewide mandate to close; video shared on social media showed a crowd both inside and out and live music. Police arrived and spoke with the owner about the demand to shut down and issued a citation, but multiple witnesses told me the gathering continued into the evening. The owner, Joseph Patrick Griffin, has since been charged by the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office with one misdemeanor count of violating the county health officer order, a charge that could carry a $1,000 fine and up to 90 days in jail." - Farley Elliott
