"The new street-taco star that began cooking in late November 2018 in Hollywood found a relatively comfortable spot along Western Avenue in Koreatown before circumstances forced it to close, and now partners Victor Delgado and Jorge “Joy” Alvarez-Tostado have announced two new locations. I’m impressed by the stand’s focus on quality Tijuana-style carne asada, adobada, and other grilled-meat tacos — enough that an LA Times critic, Bill Addison, even gave the place a glowing review — and the team plans to bring that energy to Venice (outside Wanderlust Creamery) and to a prominent Beverly Boulevard spot at Full Service Coffee. The Venice operation launches as a pop-up running 7 p.m. to midnight (with hopes of eventually operating nightly along Lincoln Boulevard), Tacos 1986 will continue to cook at Smorgasburg every Sunday, and the Beverly Boulevard site will start as a Friday–Saturday operation with 7 p.m. to midnight hours and the aim of becoming permanent and serving northern Koreatown and the greater Eastside nightly." - Matthew Kang
