Open-Air Steak and Taco Spot Opening Two Outposts in Chula Vista | Eater San Diego

"I'm introducing La Central, a new steak-focused grill that will debut this Tuesday at Novo Brazil Brewing in the Eastlake area of Chula Vista, operating Monday through Sunday from noon to 10 p.m. Owned by restaurateur Roger Canez (who also owns Tijuana’s Sonora Express Meat Boutique and opened North Park’s La Catrina), La Central will set up outside the brewery’s tasting room and feature award-winning grill master Daniel Castruita cooking a variety of cuts to order — including dry aged ribeye, top sirloin, and New York strip — as well as pork belly, bacon-wrapped ribs, bone marrow and more. The menu will also include tacos, nachos, ceviche, carne asada fries, and a burger, and Canez and Castruita will conduct monthly grilling-education classes. In early May a stand-alone La Central is planned to open at 3733 Main Street in Chula Vista with seating for 70 and kid-friendly elements such as a dedicated children’s menu and an inflatable jumping area." - Candice Woo
