"Channeling the energy of an eclectic, over-the-top auntie, this Southern cocktail lounge offers a warm, welcoming vibe with a spacious bar and patio and tropical, frozen cocktails and wine on tap. The menu leans into casual, shareable bar food inspired by the owners’ travels and the chef’s upbringing, blending Creole, Cajun and Southern flavors with Caribbean, Mexican and Vietnamese touches. Standouts include an unusual sesame- and shiso-crunch–topped guacamole, a baked goat cheese from Dapper Goat Dairy with lavender honey and roasted grapes served with house focaccia, a hot Old Bay–forward crab dip, a bright redfish agua chile verde with green papaya and mango, an indulgent Prawn Party of cold boiled shrimp prepared three ways (including Sichuan-style), and an incredible cast-iron cornbread topped with cultured butter, smoked trout roe and pickled turnip for crunch. Happy hour before 7 p.m. is a bargain — the hefty smash burger with Cajunnaise and hand-cut beef tallow fries are particularly notable — and overall this is a bar built for grubby, convivial drinking and hearty small plates." - Brittany Britto Garley
