"Opening July 17, I describe a very casual follow-up to chef Aaron London's Mission restaurant AL’s Place that brings the same signature shade of “AL’s blue” amid playful pops of color — pink signage, blue walls and tiles, and a bathroom saturated with tropical wallpaper — giving the whole space a beachy feel. The menu, inspired by trips to Jaffa, Israel, where diners spill onto the street at cafes, is also influenced by Jewish delis (specifically Montreal smoked meats) and includes dishes such as a pita filled with smokey brisket, potato hot pockets stuffed with smoked salmon and cream cheese, and falafel corn dog bites. When it opens it will serve lunch and dinner from 11 a.m.–9:30 p.m. seven days a week, with delivery and pickup via Caviar." - Ellen Fort
