"For years the Kahlua pork sandwich at The Wooly Pig Cafe has brought warm, fuzzy feelings to Inner Sunset customers since 2011. I learned the cafe will close its 205 Hugo Street location on Sunday, March 11, and reopen in Dogpatch in “early May” at 2295 Third Street (at 20th Street) in the former Dogpatch Cafe space. Co-owner Lieng Souryavong has been turning out creative, affordable sandwiches — most notably the signature Wooly Pig with Shanghai-style braised caramel pork belly — and the owners posted a heartfelt goodbye on Facebook thanking patrons for their support and loyalty. The new Dogpatch site will offer 1,861 square feet and could obtain a type 41 beer and wine license (which the Inner Sunset spot lacked), and it will join a still-burgeoning neighborhood dining scene near places like Serpentine, Long Bridge Pizza, and Noon All Day. I can see why UCSF workers and Inner Sunset residents will mourn losing local access to the cafe; some may even consider following it to the new medical-campus-adjacent location." - Caleb Pershan
