"After roughly a two-week hiatus from service to prepare for its big move, steakhouse Georgia James has reopened in its new location in Regent Square — and this time, with more personality and a breathtaking rooftop. The new location at 3505 West Dallas Street — on the corner of Dunlavy Street — is just one of three 'jewel box spaces' to open at the Regent Square development. At 11,000 square feet, the new Georgia James is much bigger, featuring a first-floor dining room that seats more than 200 people and a second-floor rooftop lounge with seating for 200-plus people, fire pits, and an indoor, temperature-controlled space with a skylit bar. The decor takes notes from the nearby Buffalo Bayou, with bottle green carpets, woodgrain tile floors, and broad windows overlooking Regent Square's green space. The restaurant also features a Beech oven with decorative tiling, a raw bar, and a cocktail bar. The kitchen is open, allowing chefs to interact with diners, and the dining area offers both semi-private banquettes and white-clothed tables. The wine room holds up to 3,800 bottles, and diners can choose from 500 wines and a variety of spirits. The menu pays homage to Houston's culinary scene with dishes like Viet-Cajun oysters and cast-iron-seared steaks. Georgia James is open from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday." - Brittany Britto Garley
