"Perched atop the 55th floor of the Palms Casino Resort, I note Ghostbar debuted in 2001 as one of the best views in the city and became a destination for both locals and visitors. After abruptly shuttering in September 2017, it will reopen on August 3 and guests will be whisked up via a private elevator to a lounge that looks out over Red Rock Canyon, downtown Las Vegas, and the Strip; an outdoor deck with a translucent barrier frames the skyline. The revived space will mix pop-up performances with DJs, live bands, and local artist Midnight Skye, and the new thematic cocktail menu features the Witching Hour (gin and elderflower tonic), the Ghost Story (spicy tequila, strawberry, peach, and basil), and a shareable $95 Witches Brew. Ghostbar previously underwent a 2013 renovation—trading green and gray for chandeliers, a candle fireplace, and a palette of whites, blacks, and fuchsias—and the Palms describes the new iteration as sleek, intimate, and inviting." - Janna Karel
