"Asheville's first dedicated food hall opens inside the historic Art Deco building at 56 Patton Avenue, bringing modern, diverse vendors into a sumptuous 1920s interior—complete with gilded ceilings and ornate details—while repurposing a space that housed a cafeteria in 1929. Created as a collaboration between Chai Pani chef Meherwan Irani and Ellington Realty Group (whose founder Douglas Ellington designed the iconic 1920s structure), the project is intended to give new and existing local businesses an opportunity to present to the public. The vendor lineup includes Buxton Chicken Palace from Buxton Hall BBQ, Highland Brewing Company, Bun Intended, Farm Dogs, Peace Love Tacos, the Hop Ice Cream, and the Times Bar; its downtown location is expected to draw heavy foot traffic, with an opening on Wednesday, June 16." - Erin Perkins
