"Co-owner Max Kuo and his partner are both alumni of nearly every sushi restaurant in Santa Barbara. In 2017, the duo went out on their own to open Sun Sushi on Upper State. Pop in on a Tuesday or Thursday when Kuo flies in fish from Japan for the restaurant’s daily specials, a rare treat at a spot so reasonably priced and beloved for their easy takeout.
