"Nature and architecture are in sweet harmony at Pleta de Mar, a beautiful adults-only hotel designed by famed local architect Antoni Esteva. Olive and pine trees surround its 30 luxurious suites; infinity pools and canopied chill-out zones are fringed by fragrant wildflower gardens. Located near the seaside village Canyamel on Mallorca's mellow northeast coast, the focus here is on privacy and peace in exclusive surroundings (the hotel has access to a small, rocky private beach). We especially like the idea of rain showers outside every room. Design fans will love the innovative sliding glass walls in the Foc restaurant, while foodies will be thrilled by the sublime Mediterranean cuisine. Although there are plenty of golf courses and beaches within a short drive, Pleta de Mar is really a place to stay put. You'll find plenty of hidden corners to read and relax – but not so tucked-away that one of the cordial staff can’t bring you a cold G&T. Both honeymooners and couples will appreciate the child-free tranquility. We couldn't get enough of the calm, classy vibe that has cemented Pleta de Mar as a star of the Mallorquin hotel scene.
