"The setting is ancient, but Lindos Comfy Suites is all about 21st-century comfort. In a series of white-cube spaces which tumble down a rocky hillside, its 21 rooms and suites are airy, clean and yes, very comfortable. Décor is sparse, but not spartan – cliff-cut steps zig-zag from one terrace to another, some furnished with wicker sofas, parasols, potted figs and the occasional flowering hibiscus. Best of all there's a rooftop bar terrace with a knock-out view of the Acropolis, a spectacular panhellenic citadel mounted on a rocky outcrop overlooking the Med. Days start and end on that rooftop – breakfast is taken here, and at dusk, smart sundowners are served up by smiley bar staff. Later, take the steps which wind down to lively Lindos village, where narrow, car-free streets are lined with shops and restaurants. We can picture the carefree holiday pattern that families and couples will fall into at this retreat: a morning clamber up the Acropolis rock (go early to avoid the crowds); an afternoon swim in the turquoise waters of St Paul's Bay; and an evening stroll around the village before returning to chilled tranquility and the most comfortable of sleeps. Highs The Skybar roof terrace, where you'll have a complimentary welcome cocktail coupled with that spectacular view Good value - other Lindos hotels are a fair bit pricier, especially in high seasonSuper-comfy beds with soft pillows and Coco-Mat mattresses Delicious Mediterranean breakfasts and light meals on requestGlorious beaches nearby; you're 10 mins' walk from St Paul's Bay and the sandy Lindos Harbour beaches Lows No pool but guests can swim at Lindos View Hotel's pool across the roadBe aware there are lots of stairs and the rocky walk down to town/beach is steep No formal restaurant: only breakfast and light meals are served at the Skybar, but there are plenty of friendly tavernas a stroll awayBreakfast is not included, and we think the extra cost is a little steep" - Lesley Gillilan
