"You'll need a reservation to eat at Nevodi, an incredibly popular spot in Castello. But it’s one you should prioritize so you can try stuff off the well-priced and creative menu that focuses on traditional lagoon and Venetian ingredients, like a selection of crudo or grilled scallops from Rialto market, or small soft-shell crabs during the fall. The paccheri pasta with tiny shrimp in a pistachio sauce and the salty-sweet mascarpone gelato with olive oil are perennial favorites. The inside dining room is bright and boisterous, and outside, you can watch Venetian life happening on the via Garibaldi. They also have a takeout pizza operation across the street that does a great margherita, plus fun pies with spicy nduja or porchetta and gorgonzola." - Gillian McGuire
