"You’re in Aruba, so you’ll need to try its traditional dishes like keshi yena (the national dish, a ball of gouda stuffed with chicken, olives, nuts, and raisins), earthy goat stew, and Aruban-style oxtail soup with its collagen-packed broth. All roads lead to The Old Cunucu House, where they’re serving up the comforting classics with textbook precision. The iguana soup isn’t on the menu, but don’t be afraid to request it—chances are, your server will share stories of how this slightly sweet soup (which is eerily similar to chicken) is truly life-changing. And when it’s in season, order the cactus fruit margarita featuring fruit plucked off the cacti growing right outside. The restaurant is in a bungalow-style space from the 1800s, decked out with original tile, quirky floral arrangements, and a large patio that’s perfect for groups." - Jacqueline Dole
