The Sandwich Board - Review - Lower East Side - New York - The Infatuation

"If your standard bodega BEC isn’t doing it for you, check out The Sandwich Board. The tiny window on the Lower East Side serves sandwiches that draw inspiration from all over the place, like a tsangwich with peking duck on a bolo bao, a halal cart sandwich, and one called the Mulberry, with ham, pepperoni and mortadella. That tsangwich is pretty solid, but we’re more excited by their breakfast sandwiches, like the tres golpes, where thin patties of crisped-up Dominican sausage envelop eggs, sweet plantains, and pickled onions. Take your sandwich to go (there are only a few chairs outside the window reserved for waiting customers), sit on a bench in Sara D. Roosevelt Park, and watch people play soccer while you tuck into your breakfast. Food Rundown Tres Golpes Jammy plantains, a very thin layer of fried Dominican sausage, and pickled red onions make this sandwich worth seeking out.
