Yangmani gives KBBQ banchan and gopchang a premium upgrade - Review - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"In the sea of Koreatown’s endless Korean barbecue options, Yangmani stands out for its excellent banchan spread and offal cuts. Sure, they have the usual beef and pork cuts, but our favorite meats here are the intestine, abomasum, and tripe, which are seared until the edges are crisped up just right. Even though the meat portions are on the smaller side, take that as a sign to fill up on the premium selection of rarely seen banchan, like quail eggs, apple salad, and a gochujang ground beef stir-fry that you’ll want refills of. With smoke that gets whisked away by powerful vents and the tables filled with gold plates, it’s a more polished (and more expensive) take on gopchang than what you’ll find at party spots like Ahgassi Gopchang. photo credit: Cathy Park Food Rundown Chang Combo This is Yangmani’s greatest hit. It bundles all of their signature offal cuts—large intestine, small intestine, abomasum, and tripe—each grilled to the right level of chew with caramelized edges. It comes with your choice of soybean or kimchi stew, but the combo tragically doesn’t include steamed egg (so order that on the side). photo credit: Cathy Park Mountain Tripe Fried Rice A heaping pile of spicy, stir-fried rice in a sizzling dolsot pan. The rice crisps up beautifully at the bottom and comes packed with smoky chopped tripe. It’s not cooked on the grill, but that means you can enjoy it while you’re working through your grilled meat. photo credit: Cathy Park" - Cathy Park
