"EA Cafe might be the only place in SF where you’ll find customizable poke bowls and soft serve sundaes on the same menu. The poke at this takeout-only spot in SoMa could easily be misidentified as being from any other solid poke place in the city: each one comes with a small selection of raw seafood-y proteins, sauces, veggie toppings, and your choice of white or brown rice. The soft serve department, on the other hand, is where EA Cafe stands out. Using the Korean Milkcow soft serve (which, as the name implies, tastes like milk with a bit of sugar), their thick, pipeable frozen dessert clings to every plastic spoonful you take. Choose between six different sundae options, a plain cup of the stuff, or versions topped with boba and fudge, or crowned with a big chunk of drippy honeycomb. We usually take our order on a five-minute stroll to China Basin Park and stretch out on one of the water-side reclining chairs." - Patrick Wong
