"When you see the line outside of Wah Fung No. 1, you might be skeptical. Don’t be. Despite its online popularity, this place isn’t just some flash-in-pan TikTok sensation. On the border of Chinatown and the Lower East Side, Wah Fung is a no-nonsense, takeout staple where you can get a fantastic meal for under 10 bucks. Once you make it through the line—which might take you 15 minutes or so—you’ll enter a tiny shop where you can pick from a few roast meats. The sticky roast pork with crisp bits of fat is an essential order, and you should pair it with the juicy roast chicken. Served over gravy-soaked rice with a few leaves of cabbage, a small combo of the two will cost you around $6. " - Bryan Kim
