CHUNKY BOSS

Fried chicken takeaway · Midtown East

"Chunky Boss is located inside a Tiger Sugar bubble tea shop on East 45th Street. It has a few barstools and a fake chicken cutlet the size of a fifth-grader mounted to the wall—which is appropriate, as the Taiwanese chain specializes in giant fried chicken cutlets, served in paper sleeves or on a comically small bun. You can choose from spicy or regular options, as well as a selection of flavor powders like plum or pepper. If the cutlet seems intimidatingly large, they also sell chicken tenders. Combo meals come with a boba drink, and everything on the menu (pretty much just chicken and fries) is $16 or less. If you come at lunchtime, expect to wait in line." - Carina Finn
