"You’ve seen this place. There’s a freaking airplane out front, along with artillery weapons aimed at the Dolphin Expressway out back. It’s been there for decades—at the periphery of the airport and your curiosity. The food isn’t great. The steak is overcooked, and the ribs taste like Tony Roma’s. But Aero Squadron makes up for it in charm. The restaurant looks like a big French country house. It’s filled with WWI memorabilia and has a panorama view of planes taking off at the airport. Each table has a pair of headphones you can slip on and listen to air traffic control while eating calamari. We’re not sure if that’s FAA-compliant, but it’s fun. They also have a generous Sunday brunch, where $45.95 includes endless mimosas, a carving station, paella, lasagna, waffles, and a chocolate fountain.
