"This Livermore pizza spot is proof that excellent pizza can be found in a random shopping center 40 miles from the nearest major city. Corner Slice’s light, airy crust has just enough chew and char, and the toppings are evenly distributed. The husband-and-wife team run the small but lively place themselves, and it feels like being in the party room of your favorite ’90s pizza parlor, with a huge mural of a slice dripping with cheese and skateboard decks as décor. The menu is limited to just a few 18-inch pies, and depending on the day, only some of them are available by the slice—you can usually count on the Cheesus Crust, their expert take on a margherita with a slightly sweet tomato sauce and creamy buffalo mozzarella—and the spicy Peppa Pig, with pepperoni and jalapeños. They don’t offer delivery, and closing time is dependent on when the dough runs out, but even given all that, the pizza is still well worth the trip." - Gabi Moskowitz
