"From the second you walk up to Bungalow, an upscale steak and seafood restaurant in Downtown Houston, you are made to feel the fantasy. A man in a dark suit opens the door, hosts wearing matching dresses ply you with complimentary champagne flutes, and then you’re led to plush booths surrounding marble-topped tables in a dimly lit, high-ceiling room full of plants. Everyone working here and dining here is impeccably good-looking, and you feel the same, as though the front entrance is some kind of bewitched portal into a better, more beautiful world. The thickly-bound menus list excessively decadent cocktails, giant slabs of meat for sharing, and a whole-fried snapper. The food is decadent, and also heavy, so plan to split a lobster mac and cheese or some fried calamari on a date or a celebratory dinner with friends.
