"The most invigorating purchase you can make on Rodeo Drive isn’t a cryo-facial—it’s fruit tea from Heytea, a small pickup counter stationed among rows of luxury designer storefronts. This boba chain from China specializes in blended fruit drinks that don’t just taste like melted gummy bears, and often draws lines that include at least one YSL bag or pomeranian with a bow. Sure, they have beige milk teas like every other LA boba shop, but here you want the ones swirled with silky chunks of real mango or juicy grapes that float around like Orbeez. And because Heytea pioneered the now-ubiquitous cheese foam trend, many of their drinks are topped with a satisfying layer of sweet-salty fluff that’ll leave you with a mustache. Waits can get long, but you’ll end up with a colorful accessory showing off like a Hermès bag, for much cheaper. photo credit: Jessie Cohen Food Rundown Mango Grapefruit Boom One of Heytea’s bestsellers, this is like drinking a delicious tropical fruit salad. It comes with chewy little sago pearls, chunks of mango that you can slurp up like a pudding, and bits of grapefruit pulp that add a tart punch. photo credit: Jessie Cohen Fluffy Cloud Crisp Grape This is a great one if you’re into cheese foam. The thick layer on top is fluffy like the name suggests and mellows out the tangy grape tea underneath.
