"Polenta is a quintessential Lake Como dish, and is prepared differently depending on the region you’re in. At this casual polentoteca up in the mountains in Bellagio, the specialty is toc con missultin, a polenta made with chopped shad and traditionally eaten by hand. A cauldron of room-temperature polenta is placed in the middle of the table with long wooden spoons for you to pick out the mush, ball it up with your hands, and enjoy without too much fuss. Although this place is open for dinner, we like coming here for lunch before succumbing to an afternoon nap." - Anna Rahmanan
