DAM-A, Hot Pot & BBQ AYCE - Austin Hotpot

Asian restaurant · Highland

"Dam-A is a decent all-you-can-eat hot pot and Korean BBQ twofer in the Highland shopping center. It’s conveniently located next to the Galaxy movie theater, making it well-equipped for a meal of endless meats before or after stuffing yourself with a bottomless bucket of popcorn. The biggest draw here is that every table comes with a communal grill and individual hot pots, so you don’t have to choose one or the other—you can sear marinated slabs of bulgogi and dunk slices of pork jowl into spicy Sichuan broth. Meats and vegetables are self-serve, and while the selection and quality don’t quite match specialized hot pot or BBQ spots, the fun of trying to manage both at once makes it worth a visit. If you're craving the best of either format, other places do them better. But for a filling, interactive meal—or a pre-movie bite—Dam-A gets the job done. photo credit: Nicolai McCrary" - Nicolai McCrary
