Kamu at The Coach & Horses Leyton - Review - Leyton - London - The Infatuation

"Seeing as London is the kind of place where you can lose a pair of sunglasses and not notice for 14 consecutive slate-gray days, it’s hard to appreciate just how many great sun-trap beer gardens there are in Leyton. But we have a particular soft spot for the one at The Coach & Horses, a classic, Chesterfield-lounging boozer that also happens to be home to some decent Sri Lankan dishes, courtesy of kitchen residency Kamu. Inside, gents who are six-decades-deep into their friendships grab a pint at the bar and locals park themselves in front of one of the massive screens while mainlining chips. But slip through the back door and you’ll find fairy lights, hideaway booths, heaters, a covered section with screens, and most importantly, long benches where you and five friends can dip paratha in dhall in the sunshine. Save it for a day when those sunglasses are finally required and stick to the fried paratha-packed kottu for a satisfying meal that’ll encourage those pints to keep on flowing.
