"Cervecería Salmedina is the quintessential spot for meeting up with friends in the tapas-bar-packed Alfalfa for a sobremesa—the art of lingering long after your meal. Here you’ll find some of the freshest seafood around. Their signature dish, and our favorite thing on the menu, is the parpatana, a cut of bluefin tuna taken from between the head and belly, served on a platter and paraded to your table with fanfare—fail to order it and you risk straining your neck and drooling with jealousy over your neighbor’s meal. Tuna aside, their steamed mussels in gremolata sauce, mildly sweet dorado, and calamari served both grilled and fried, range from really solid to incredible. Just be sure to ask for extra bread to sop up the accompanying heavy-on-the-garlic sauces." - Aileen Weintraub
