The Best New Bars In LA - Los Angeles - The Infatuation

"They say god never closes a door without opening a window, which is how we’d describe the situation at No Smoking, a tongue-in-cheek dive bar that replaced beloved Mid-City haunt Mandrake Bar. The new owners added some retro beer memorabilia and wood paneling that make the place look a little like a cabin in Big Bear cabin, but they also kept the drinking den's scrappy charm fully intact (well drinks go for $12 and there’s a daily happy hour from 4-7pm). Come for the chill patio in the back, low-fi DJs that spin on weekends, and a cheeky cocktail list that includes whisky highballs on tap, frozen ube coladas, and a damn smooth coffee negroni." - brant cox, sylvio martins, garrett snyder
