White Men Can’t Jerk are in the kitchen at this big smiles pub, which runs on Brixton Brewery beers and green leather chesterfield sofas. Their jerk chicken has a lovely tangy sweetness and comes inside brioche buns, in wing form, but our personal pick is the signature jerk chicken on a bed of spicy fries. If the weather’s looking cloud-free, the front garden is the place to be. It feels oddly private considering it’s on a main road in Peckham and by day, student mates share pints and freelancers work hard on their tans.
