"Le Magritte is a real delight for the ego. It’s the kind of “drinks, old sport?” bar that soothes and seduces from the moment you pass through The Beaumont hotel’s gleaming chequerboard lobby and see a bartender in a white suit jacket, framed by a golden, art deco bar. There’s a short cocktail menu full of frothy, flirty numbers and strong, sophisticated little tipples, but the monied, ‘20s setting calls for a classic—ideally something that’s a bit smoky to match the subtle wafts of cigar smoke from the intimate terrace out front. Expect a cashmere-clad Mayfair crowd and the odd hotel guest who’s nursing their jet lag with a perfect Old Fashioned. photo credit: The Beaumont Mayfair photo credit: The Beaumont Mayfair" - Heidi Lauth Beasley
