"Dixon’s is a counter-service soul food spot in East Oakland with great fried-to-order catfish at a reasonable price. For $10.99, you get a plate with the flaky, crispy-on-the-edges fish, plus a drink, sliced wheat bread, and fries or potato salad. While this isn’t the best soul food you’ll ever have in your life (including the skippable sides), it’s a great option when you urgently need golden-brown protein. Another reprieve for your wallet?
