Pelican Café - Review - Asakusa Tawaramachi - Tokyo - The Infatuation

"Fluffy, soft, and tender, Japanese shokupan deserves every bit of the hype it gets. While you could try this milk bread at any old grab-and-go bakery dotted throughout Japan, Pelican Café does a dine-in shokupan experience, giving you time to really enjoy this shining fluffy superstar. There are seemingly endless options—fruit sandos stuffed with sweet strawberries and fresh whipped cream, carefully toasted golden brown slices topped off with melting pads of butter, and thick ham katsu sandwiches quartered and plated like a neat pile of legos. The original cafe is located in Asakusa Tawaramachi and has been going strong since 1945." - Kiera Wright-Ruiz
