"Softies, a former pop-up and Smorgasburg vendor, has opened its first brick-and-mortar location in USC Village. The small retro space has a dining hall-like look that might make you think it’s a part of campus dining, but the juicy-looking smashburgers here, finished with aji verde or confit garlic sauce, are far from cafeteria-grade. They’re also doing pork rib sandwiches, mushroom patties, and chopped cheese, along with a breakfast menu that’ll launch at the start of the fall semester." - cathy park
