"Fans of pony High Lifes, you have a new hive to pledge your allegiance to. Meet Ernie’s, a new speakeasy below Up-Down in East that’s a dive bar for dive bar enthusiasts. It checks all the boxes: pool tables, a serious beer selection, dollar bills plastered about, a complete absence of any sort of cocktail menu, and a chain of Underberg hung proudly near the register. Various taxidermy look down on groups in red leather booths with zero judgment as people butcher the lyrics to “Benny And The Jets.” We haven't had the food here, but there are cheeseburgers, fries, curds, and corn dogs to soak up that gin and tonic or tequila shot you just decided was a good idea." - Ann Walczak
