"LA is fairly thin on Afghan restaurants, which is why this Downey spot’s juicy-looking koobideh caught our attention. Besides the namesake kabobs, AKH serves other traditional dishes such as qabuli palao with raisins, almonds, and caramelized carrots, leek-stuffed bolani, and borani banjan, a fried eggplant dish with tomato and yogurt sauce.
