Crown & Crumpet Tea Salon

Tea house · Japantown

"On the first floor of the New People building in Japantown is the casual high tea spot Crown & Crumpet Tea Salon. This place takes up one small corner of the shopping center, with no physical separation between the mall and tea salon. It looks like a bright pink fever dream with pink chairs, pink flowers, and pink tablemats. The sandwiches and scones are a bit dry and the tea—loose leaf with no strainer—is oversteeped. Although reasonably priced at $44 per person, and with longer hours than most tea shops in the city (Thursday through Monday, 11am-4pm), there are simply other tea spots we’d send you to first." - Ricky Rodriguez
