Side-eye for being loud isn't a thing at family-friendly Eat 17 - Review - London - The Infatuation
"Eat 17 is a food shop, cafe, and aspirational Walthamstow Village hangout. Its shelves are stocked with the sort of hyper-seasonal and local produce that makes Waitrose look pedestrian—mushrooms that could double as sculptural artworks, ‘vegan facon jam’, multiple brands of chilli oil, and, in the summer, an Ice Cream Union hatch. The walk-in-only cafe, tucked to the side of the bakery counter, is a diner-like space populated by young families. Dodge scooters trussed up with dinosaur balloons, pushchairs, and discarded toast crusts in order to get a comfy booth. The brunch dishes are decent—nicely seasoned avocado on toast, a good full English—and at lunch, the pizzas get the job done. It’s best for families who want an easy setting to dump their bags for an hour or so, and not be judged if a last-slice-of-pizza tantrum occurs. Food Rundown Eat 17 Breakfast This is a pleasant full English breakfast. The best bit is the sausage—meaty, a bit peppery, and cooked perfectly so that every side is nicely crisp.
